An Inside Look with Medina Berry Farms

Learn more about Medina Berry Farms in this Beyond the Market feature! When Pedro and Angelica Medina first immigrated to the United States from Mexico in the 1970s, they began working in the fields for a commercial berry grower here in Watsonville, California.

After helping the couple to gain their citizenship, the landowners leased Pedro and Angelica three acres of land to try growing for themselves; eventually, they decided to lease their entire acreage to the Medinas, trusting them to keep traditional Mexican farming practices alive in the Salinas Valley

Today, Medina Berry Farms is in its third generation of farming on that very same land. They grow and sell the most delicious varieties of strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries, and have even learned how to sustain their growing practices year-round - ensuring they always have fresh-picked berries for their weekly farmers’ markets! Come Beyond the Market with us to Medina Berry Farms, and see how the entire Medina family works together to achieve a shared dream. Find the Medina family at a farmers' market near you!
