These sweet and savory bacon-wrapped figs are the perfect bite-sized appetizer for your next gathering. Creamy goat cheese is stuffed inside chewy dried figs, then wrapped in crispy bacon and finished with a tangy balsamic drizzle.
- 8 dried figs, sliced in 1/2 (Calimyrna variety recommended)
- 8 strips bacon, cut in 1/2
- 4 ounces goat cheese
- Balsamic vinegar, for drizzling
- Black pepper, to taste
Preheat the oven to 450°F. For each portion, lay out half a strip of bacon, top with a fig half and a small scoop of the goat cheese, wrap the bacon around the fig, and secure it with a toothpick. Place the wrapped figs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and repeat until all the ingredients are used.
Drizzle the assembled figs with balsamic vinegar and sprinkle them with black pepper. Bake in the preheated oven, flipping the figs halfway through the cooking time, until the bacon is crispy and fully cooked, which will take about 20 minutes. Serve warm.
