Ingredients

1 basket of figs or 8 to 10 figs, cut into quarters, but with the bottom still attached to create an "opened flower" look

8 ounce container of ovoline mozzarella, cut into quarters

1 small shallot, cut into thin slices, lightly salted and macerated in vinegar or lemon juice for 15 minutes

12 small basil leaves

Quality olive oil to taste

Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Lemon juice to taste

Good quality balasmic vinegar to taste

 

 

 

Preparation

On a chilled platter, place all the figs, shallots, basil and mozzarella. Dress with olive oil, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and black pepper.

Serve.
